Stirling Council has recently published its Local Transport Strategy, which sets out our vision for addressing current and future transportation issues. A focal point of our strategy and that for TACTRAN is promotion of more sustainable transport choices.
Traffic levels in Stirling are forecast to increase by 19% between 2005 and 2010, with potential growth of 24% by 2015. Clearly this is not sustainable and increasing levels of congestion will begin to impact on our environment, economy and quality of life.
As individuals, we all need to take more responsibility for the travel choices we make. The LIFTSHARE scheme has been developed with this in mind and will compliment delivery of our staff travel plan with further linkages to Stirling’s business and residential community.
